FLPA and the College of Law are pleased to once again open applications for the new scholarship for young family lawyers and law graduates for 2020 – the FLPA and College of Law Practical Legal Training Student Scholarship.
Established for the first time in 2020, the winner of the scholarship will receive the equivalent of the fee for undertaking the College of Law Practical Legal Training course and $1,000 cash.
FLPA president Dan Bottrell and College of Law Executive Director Ann-Maree David said the scholarship winner also receives mentoring and a work experience placement during the practical component of the College of Law PLT, via an experienced FLPA member, to help the winning student attain the practical legal training component required for completion of the course requirements.
The College of Law PLT course is the leading program in Australia for law graduates preparing for admission to practice and is worth almost $10,000. Coupled with the cash prize and the mentoring opportunities, this scholarship is an outstanding opportunity for young practitioners.
Completion of this program leads to the award of the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice (GDLP).
Applications are now open for young law graduates for this new scholarship and will close 5pm Friday, 1 October 2021.
If you are interested in applying, email membership@flpa.org.au a cover letter and statement addressing each of the eligibility and the selection criteria; a copy of your academic transcript/record; a brief curriculum vitae; details of two referees; and copies of any other supporting documentation.
